Have you Played a MOBA?

                                            Is it True?
Some MOBA Games
Some people have been wondering, are MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games actually part of the strategy genre? Well, the answer is yes, you may see strategy gaming trophies on websites of popular MOBA games. This question arises because people think that MOBA style games are more action than strategy. It's true that MOBA does incorporate lots of action, but if you've played a "Battle Arena" game before, you would know that it takes quite a bit of thinking to win a game.

What's a MOBA?

MOBAs are currently the most popular strategy game genre being played right now. An example is the well-known game, DOTA (Defense of The Ancients). In MOBA games, players control their character with their mouse and keyboard to kill NPC (non-player controlled) minions that spawn from the enemies' base. The goal in a MOBA game is to kill the enemy base in team fights or custom single fights. There are turrets along the way that your team must destroy along the way, before you can go for the base.

If you have played a MOBA before, please feel free to skip this long list, since you would already know what the game would contain.

Defense Of The Ancients MOBA Game
For some people, MOBAs may seem quite boring, since Win/Loss ratio is the only affect of playing the game. I do like games that put a permanent affect on a player for what they do in the game, but MOBA games are an exception. One reason is because I am not the best at these kinds of games, so I do lose quite a lot, and am glad that it doesn't affect my plays later on.
